Hi!

http://www.rwgiangiulio.com/math/ gives a brilliantly cogent simple description of the mathematical criteria for pipe organ building.

http://www.rwgiangiulio.com . . .
Whether a link should go to this site as an inspirational instrument, a home organ, or an organ builder might be a moot point. Can anyone decide?

Best wishes

Hello everybody,

I discovered your forum today, boring me too much to read the Frenchs... But I speak and write only very little English even if I happen sometimes make an effort.

If I understand your question correctly, you asked for it three years ago, what thinks an organbuilder on the formulas given by the friend Raphi Giangiulio. Is what I'm wrong?

I already spoke in French on this specific topic on the forum of my own web site with translation by Google can be read directly here.

If I allow myself this, it is because I think that you could may not know these pages, written and programmed by me a few years ago now, but that have never been translated even if a menu in the top right suggest this... We must therefore be content, once again, with the mill of Google.

Since these publications, I discovered things posted by the organbuilder Nicola Ferroni especially a series of eight articles that starts here. All in Italian, that I read barely (but automatic translators are your friends) ...

What can we find in English on this subject? Where are the articles on the web that deal with pipe scales? I'm still very surprised by the fact that american people are surely NOT on the top...

Raphi Giangiulio has so much merit to publish these arrays of scales and calculation procedure. In English, it is so rare ... But, as I said otherwise, it remains that the data he publishes are extremely (if not only) used in United States: based on Töpfer and its incorrigible German "Normal Mensur"...

Dear Sébastien

Further to welcoming you on the other thread, thank you for your contribution here which is most interesting.

If you would like to write in French, it won't hurt us English who think that our language rules the world to look at something different, and then you can put it through G translate to make it easier. We have to break the language barrier, particularly as France is the home to the most wonderful heritage of organ expertise. (I am a fan of both Isnard and Grinda . .. )

Our language barrier leaves us so much the losers and has to be overcome.

Time is short this afternoon: the following are the links for us to peruse:

In his post, Forum Admin in setting up this site was suggesting that a link go to the site from our collection of useful sites, and what category would be most appropriate

Best wishes and Happy New Year
